How to Design a Simple Form?

On a blank jersey template, first place the main color, the crest, and the back number. Multiplying the pattern before these three elements look balanced can hide fundamental layout issues. Check where your attention is first drawn by looking at the thumbnail view of the template.

Then, add a single detail: such as a different color on the sleeve cuff or a thin stripe on the chest. If the design looks clearer when you remove the added element, you may not need it. Rather than deleting every detail for the sake of simplicity, it is a more useful criterion to define the purpose of each piece.
